Back in 2015, sometime in September, my twitter feed exploded with the #Derbycon hashtag. Posts of grilles covered in delicious BBQ meats, tents from people camping out, the conference hotel announcing a keg challenge; all the same hacker family I missed seeing so much tweeting “See you all at Derby!”. I had to go to this con.
Come May 2016, I was posted up and ready for Round 1 ticket sales for Derbycon 6.0. And Recharge it was. I felt incredibly energized and motivated about my job and security returning home after Derbycon.
There was a good amount of people and hallways quickly became crowded between talks. It was difficult to choose between tracks as each sounded interesting, but unfortunately it came to a choice of – is there standing room in the back or not. That is, if you didn’t want to wait in line. But that’s okay because…
AWESOME PEOPLE EVERYWHERE!
The best part of cons like this is getting to see all the great people in this community.
Also got to play with one of these Dopescopes from WarCollar. It displays a list of the top Wifi access points in the area with the received signal strength and encryption type.
